Haiti

Haiti was devastated by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake on January 12, 2010. The natural disaster injured an estimated 300,000 people and killed 250,000. I reported from Haiti in January and June 2010. Below are two examples of my radio and TV work covering the story.

SIX MONTHS AFTER HAITI'S EARTH QUAKE

This television piece was aired six months after Haiti's devastating 2010 earthquake. The piece marked my second visit to the devastated country. I had visited there the previous January when the disaster happened.

BODIES IN THE RUBBLE

This radio piece tells the story of bodies dumped in a rubble pit in the aftermath of Haiti's devastating earthquake in January 2010.

The piece was part of an award winning entry to Ireland's National Radio Awards for which I won the 2010 News Reporter of the Year. 'Bodies in the rubble' was broadcast on RTE Radio 1's 'Morning Ireland' Ireland radio programme.
